Director of Athletics
Greensboro, NC

  • Act as chief administrative officer of the Athletic Department
  • Maintain responsibility for all departmental financial affairs, including preparation and control of an annual budget
  • Oversee hiring and retention of quality coaches and administrative support staff
  • Supervise/manage the use of athletic facilities with other campus and external users
  • Promote programs that enhance diversity and gender equity in athletics
  • Lead athletics fund-raising initiatives and coordinate/collaborate, when appropriate, with the Institutional Advancement office.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education or a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • 3 years experience leading an athletic department in a university setting
  • Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the overall operation of the surgery center and participates in the development and implementation of the Center’s surgical policies & procedures
  • Maintains open communication with all staff to promote quality improvement.
  • Effectively manages staff scheduling, supervises the perioperative team, and promotes education and training.
  • Remain up-to-date on current recommended standards & practices
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals for quality patient care.
  • 3 years of experience in the Surgical Services Operating Room is required
  • 2 years of experience as a charge nurse or RN supervisor in the OR BSN required
